About Clique Events

Clique dance events offer a lively and supportive environment for young adults (aged 18 to 35) with intellectual disabilities and special needs to socialise, dance and enjoy themselves.   Held monthly in the Centenary Room at Geebung RSL, our events feature high-energy dance parties that are both fun and inclusive.

Tickets are able to be purchased via our website for $35, which includes entry, a soft drink, and a light supper.   Registration and ticket purchases are required by midnight on the Tuesday before the event.  Unfortunately we cannot accept walk-ins on the night.  All Clique events are drug, alcohol and smoke-free.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the age requirements?

Clique events specifically target young adults (18-35 years old) with disabilities and special needs who are seeking a high-energy, fun-filled dance party experience.

Are under 18s and over 35’s able to come?

Generally, no. Our events are specifically designed for those aged 18-35 to create a space that caters to this age group. We ask that this age range be respected to maintain the integrity of our events and ensure that our community members have a place that feels uniquely theirs.

I have a parent or carer who brings me to the event - can they stay?

Due to space limitations within the room, unless you really need personal support in the room during the event, we encourage parents and carers to either drop you off or enjoy a meal at the Geebung RSL Club to help free up space in the room. If a support worker is needed to stay in the room during the event, they will need to purchase a Support ticket for $10, which includes entry, a snack meal, and a soft drink.

Is there a dress code for Clique events?

Yes, Geebung RSL has an enviable reputation for service, dress and behaviour standards.  Please come dressed to impress our hosts!  Clean, smart casual attire.  Preferably collared shirt, no muscle tops or inappropriate low cut tops for the girls and no shirts with offensive or provocative printing. As our events are held within a services club, not hats are to worn outside our function room. More information about Geebung RSL's dress code can be found here.

What does a Clique Dance Party look like?

Check-in begins at 6:30pm, and the event kicks off at 7:00pm sharp.  A young DJ plays lively, high energy music to get you dancing like there is no tomorrow.  A light supper and soft drinks are served around 8:00pm with several prizes and raffle draws announced during the meal break.

I have trouble with transport sometimes?

The Geebung train station is diagonally opposite the venue and it is also well serviced by buses that stop out the front.  If you need further assistance with transport, please contact Clique as early as possible and we may be able to suggest various transport providers to link you with.

What other events does Clique Brisbane do?

Clique also host regular restaurant social outings throughout the year with some pop-up events such as our annual Riverfire event!  Stay tuned!

I don’t really like dancing so not sure if it’s my thing?

If the great music and fun party atmosphere still doesn’t get you moving there are other ways to still engage and make new friends by joining the fun atmosphere.
